Airtanks for subways in Dubai and Riyadh

The Airtanks business unit produces compressed air tanks for Alstom, which will be installed in subways in Dubai and Riyadh in the future. Joining Alstom as a reference customer is another step for Frauenthal Automotive to establish itself as a supplier to the rail industry in the long term.

Frauenthal Automotive is very successful in the rail vehicle sector - a market with future potential. Following the first order from Stadler, a global manufacturer of rail vehicles, Alstom will also produce compressed air tanks. Alstom is one of the world's leading integrated railway systems companies. Containers for the railway are more complex than the conventional aluminum container, so the aluminum container production in the German factory in Elterlein was realigned.

From Elterlein to Dubai and Riyadh

The scope of supply includes three different steel compressed air tanks for two projects that go to the Alstom plant in Chorzow in Poland. They are used to store the air for the compressed air braking system of the subways. The production of a 35-liter and a 70-liter Airtank for the Metro in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) started last year. The subway in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) is equipped with 50-liter containers by the factory in Elterlein. The order includes 1,000 compressed air tanks for 250 vehicles.
